My Mummyji vs. Your Mummyji

A gentle reminder of my mother and all her recipes to come
On the way to Vienna last night, I read a cover story on Vicky Bhogal, tipped to be the new British-Asian-Delia-Smith-Nigella-Lawson-whatever.
This girl in incredible. She’s 26, written three books with two TV series in the pipeline. Total over-achiever. Jealous, ich? Nein!
Anyway, she’s written this book called Cooking With Mummyji, which sounds delightful. Especially when I think what a non-joy cooking with my mummyji is. I call her mother anyway.
Mother fist started full-on Indian cooking a few years after me. Having newly discovered a natural flair for Indian cooking, she’s now a kitchen nazi, dictating to her sprog in India and churning out the best dishes to my total disbelief and my hubby’s amazement.
Mother’s recipes will feature soon. They rock. Better tip your mummyji off Vicky…

I have really learnt most of my cooking my mummyji. She has been generous in imparting her wisdom to me.
Two great things about this post:
